Lyve Reviews

We print our own high-end canvas print, and have for over 10 years. We tried every canvas available in New Zealand and Australia that we could get our hands on before landing on Breathing Color. We need deep blacks, with the best possible colour gamut available. With the release of Breathing Color's Lyve, we found everything we needed in this “canvas” from Breathing Color. The texture of the Lyve canvas is huge for us, when we began printing direct to canvas, some 10 years ago we missed the authentic surface of the artist canvas. We finally found in Lyve a nice deep weave, and when we coat it with Glamour II and stretch it, our clients often mistake it for a painting on artist canvas and that’s the WOW factor we are looking for, and the leading edge we need in this fast moving industry. With Lyve, we're getting even better color, and without the concerns about surface cracking. I really feel this is a canvas that is going to age beautifully. “To learn more about Canvart visit www.canvart.co.nz
Peter Latham - Visual Artist/Photographer

"Lyve canvas is a significant step forward - so much more depth in the image with this amazing colour gamut! Shadow areas are reinvigorated and the detail in all areas is massive. The more you look the more you see, very very impressive".
About Peter: Peter was a keen photographer from an early age, but didn't turn professional until he embarked on a bicycle expedition of the South Island of New Zealand in 1989, with 20kg of camera equipment! A self-taught photographer, I spent many years travelling the world as a photographer on cruise ships and returned home to NZ in 2003, where I began experimenting with images on canvas. Most of my work highlights the diverse beauty of NZ’s grand landscape and flora. Today, many of Air New Zealand’s business class “Koru” lounges are decorated with my art and pieces are avidly collected in NZ and overseas, including the family of the famous Swedish camera manufacturer, Hasselblad. My first exhibition was held at "The Art Bungalow" in Kerikeri, September 2004, where Art Critic Larry Jenkins wrote: "It's a fusion of art and high-tech in a very intimate way, and Latham is a master photographer."
