In 1977, Bruce Smith came to Auckland and started a company called Canvas City on Hobson Street. Canvas City evolved into one of Auckland's leading outdoor stores and was sold to R & R Sports in 2003. Bruce and his son, Brendan, have continued the canvas side of the business under a new banner, The Canvas Company. Today the Canvas Company supplies artist fabrics, PVC, acrylic materials, and much more. We also provide a manufacturing/repair service as well.
