Matthew's canvas of coice is 12oz 100% Cotton Duck Artist Canvas for small to medium sized workd and a heavier 15oz for larger sized works up to 2 metres.  "Both the 12oz and 15oz cotton duck are sourced directly for the artist market and provide a consistent, quality product at a very competitive cost.  Both weights of canvas stretch beautifully and carefully prepared provide a responsive surface with a good degree of 'tooth'.  Additionally, both weights of canvas remain nicely taut once stretched, an important consideration, paricularly with New Zealand's constantly shifting atmospheric conditions which can tend to cause frequent expansion and contraction of canvas threads.  Brendan's thorough knowledge of his products means that I can purchase with confidence". 

Matthew Browne has been exhibiting solo since 1986 and has work in private collections in New Zealand, Australia, England, Denmark, Singapore and the United States.  In New Zealand he is represented in the permanent collections of the James Wallace Arts Trust and the Parliamentary Collection, Parliament Buildings, Wellington.  Browne also has work in the collection of The Royal Overseas League, London.
